A “free” wedding package is real, and it is not a gimmick. It is a group-booking incentive: the resort waives its ceremony package once your guests book enough rooms. What almost nobody tells you is that the number is set resort by resort and there is no industry standard. Across six resorts we work with, the published minimum runs from 7 room nights<\/strong> to 225<\/strong> \u2014 a thirty-fold spread, against a web that keeps repeating “about 25 to 30.” Below is what each resort actually publishes, in its own words, plus the arithmetic for your guest list and the part that genuinely costs you: the group contract.<\/p>\n

What is the actual room-night minimum for a free wedding package?<\/h2>\n

Every figure below is quoted from the resort’s own published package terms. Where a resort states a rule in rooms rather than room nights, we show both.<\/p>\n

Two things jump out. The lowest bar on this list \u2014 Cap Cana’s 7 nights \u2014 asks nothing of your guests at all; it is the couple’s own stay in one specific suite category. And the highest, Nobu’s 225 room nights, is a different species of wedding entirely. Anyone who tells you the answer is “25 to 30 room nights” is quoting an average that describes almost none of these resorts.<\/p>\n

Baha Mar is on the list deliberately. Plenty of resorts run a group programme without ever comping the package, and if you assume “group contract” means “free wedding” you will be surprised at the wrong moment.<\/p>\n

Rooms, room nights, or nights in a category \u2014 why the numbers don’t compare<\/h2>\n

A room night<\/strong> is one room occupied for one night. Ten rooms for three nights is thirty room nights. That much is simple. The confusion starts because resorts state the same kind of threshold in three different units, and couples compare them as if they were the same.<\/p>\n
