As our popularity for planning incredible destination weddings in Italy has grown, so too has Team Elegante’s love for the boundlessly charming region of Tuscany. Couples in search of a destination that delivers on lush landscapes, fabulous food and Italy’s signature Renaissance romance will find all of it here. We’d wish to take you on a Tour of Toscana, as we revisit five delightfully distinct weddings planned within the region throughout 2023. Settle into your seat (extra leg room, after all) and revel in the journey.
Why We Love Weddings in Tuscany
Elegante by Michelle J and Tuscany? That’s amore.
Not only do we predict weddings in Tuscany have the potential for outrageous romance, we also love the variability of venues and landscapes available to select from. Whether you’re in search of classic countryside with Cypress trees and meandering hills, a celebration on the shoreline of a glittering lake or iconic city views out of your bedroom window, you won’t be short on options.
Throughout our years of working in Tuscany we’ve developed close relationships with a number of the region’s best suppliers, and we personally know and trust them to be a part of the team that brings la dolce vita to your wedding day. From florists with abundant creative flair to Italy’s most esteemed caterers, working along with your dream team is at all times a pleasure for us and a breeze for you.
We wish to at all times take a sidestep from the expected in Tuscany, looking beyond the tempting tourist spots and finding areas and venues that deliver on ‘certainly one of a sort’ in a giant way. As we make our 5 stops on our Tuscan Tour of 2023, you’ll see what we mean – prepare to satisfy the lake with all the sweetness but not one of the footfall of the north’s dominant duo!
Tour of Toscana: Stop 1
Il Borro, Arezzo
First on the list is that this fabulous Ferragamo-owned hamlet dating back a century, where history is preserved and you’re transported back in time – with all of the mod-cons and luxury hospitality. We celebrated Anjali and Porus’ vibrant spring wedding with exclusive use of your entire Il Borro estate, enveloping family from all across the globe in a jubilant cocoon of a weekend.
Sophisticated style meets legacy here, with the lovingly kept ‘borgo’ housing guests in its rustic streets and the Villa grounds offering unrivalled views because the celebrations unfold. We were joined by award winning Italian caterers Galateo Ricevimenti for this wedding, which you may read and see more about on their dedicated blog:

Tour of Toscana: Stop 2
Palagina, Figline Valdarno
Our next destination is one other emerging hero of the multi-day wedding world, the agricultural retreat of Palagina. This venue is really a celebration of the sights, aromas and tastes that epitomise weddings in Tuscany, with its own vineyard and agriturismo ascending to its poolside villa offering a panorama of Figline.
Taylor and Matt’s 4 day wedding was a masterclass within the transformation of spaces, showcasing a quartet of events and indulgence in the encompassing area that culminated in a spectacular wedding on the ultimate day. The honey-clad major villa was the point of interest for every day, hosting a classy White Party by the infinity pool, a dinner within the tree-lined avenue, a country Tuscan feast and the all-important splendour of the marriage itself.
Every detail was considered; a lookbook of fashionable outfits for every event, venue illustrations by Big Day Designs adorning welcome gifts, and an itinerary of wine tastings, farm tours and Fiat 500 experiences across the 4 days.

Tour of Toscana: Stop 3
Villa Orlando, Torre del Lago
Once you consider a lakeside wedding in Italy, you almost certainly don’t immediately consider Lake Massaciuccoli in Puccini’s hometown of Torre del Lago. Neither did Natasha and Marc’s guests, which is why it was such an exquisite surprise after they discovered the identity of the key wedding venue, Villa Orlando, on the day!
This Jewish wedding in Tuscany featured one of the vital breathtaking chuppah setups we’ve ever put together, with curvy tree-like legs intertwined with abundant florals by our friends at Il Giardino Delle Fate Flower Design. The grounds of Villa Orlando were the right host for Natasha and Marc’s celebrations, and our third stop on our Tour of Tuscany has now been featured on the wonderful La Lista.
Tour of Toscana: Stop 4
Tenuta di Artimino, Carmignano
Our penultimate stop on our journey through our 2023 weddings in Tuscany is the Medici estate of Artimino, with its Villa la Ferdinanda holding court over the UNESCO Heritage Site. In terms of dinners with a view, we’re sure we’ve never seen a greater one than this arrange for Corine and Neil.
Intentionally low, easy table arrangements gave solution to the charming countryside views beyond, which only got more special because the sun set and dusk fell over the merging of two cultures and families.
We love Tenuta di Artimino’s situation near Florence, which remains to be far enough nestled within the hills that you’re feeling blissfully excluded from the world’s hustle and bustle. With its winding cobbled streets, lovely clocktower and really own gelato store, there’s a lot to love before you even get to the marriage celebrations.
Take a moment to wander away in Corine and Neil’s wedding over on their blog:

Tour of Toscana: Stop 5
Villa di Maiano, Fiesole
Last but not at all least, we come to a venue that commands an unparalleled view over the great thing about Florence below. fifteenth century Villa di Maiano was the location for Aviva and Alan’s wedding in Tuscany last yr, and what an Elegante Extravaganza it was.
The grounds of Maiano were transformed with a sublime clearspan marquee, allowing for truly decadent floral displays dripping from the ceiling and cascading over tables inside – all without interrupting that spectacular outlook.
A few of the perfect suppliers within the Tuscan and Jewish wedding worlds got here together to create a very experiential wedding, and this one goes down in our history books as having the largest Elegante on-the-day team to this point!
You’re really in for a treat whenever you absorb all of the personalised details of Aviva and Alan’s wedding on the blog, and we haven’t even mentioned their city-centre welcome party that we’re sure made use of each lemon in Tuscany…
