Georgia and Tom were married at the long-lasting Savoy hotel wedding in March, gathering family and friends at one in all London’s most well-known and spectacular venues. Their Jewish celebration was meticulously designed and lovingly planned, working with the Savoy’s beautiful spaces to create a marriage that was romantic, deeply personal and absolutely every thing they wanted it to be – plus nothing they didn’t.
After we began the planning journey Georgia and Tom told me they’d attended a lot of weddings over the previous couple of years, so that they had very clear ideas about what they did and didn’t want for their very own. They’d been to several wonderful destination weddings, but ultimately decided it wasn’t for them. They desired to marry sooner fairly than later in a renowned London wedding venue, and it became apparent that the Savoy was the right alternative and ticked all their boxes.
I all the time spend time with my couples listening to their specific requirements, likes and dislikes, and meticulously taking note of the small details that make a giant difference. Georgia and Tom briefed me on a series of things that were very vital to them, which I kept front of mind in the course of the planning process and on the day itself. The specifics included;
- Not wanting any latecomers to be allowed into the ceremony room after it had began, in order to not interrupt the atmosphere of the emotional and intimate moments
- Similarly, they wanted to make sure their speeches were uninterrupted so guests were asked to stay in or out of the room in the course of the speaking
- It was vital to them that their guests were allowed to enjoy their dinner thoroughly, so we rigorously collaborated with Totem to make sure there have been breaks within the music and entertainment for people to sit down, eat and chat
- When it was time to rev up the party they did so, allowing Georgia and Tom to enjoy a fun singalong set with guests waving napkins and really taking within the talent of the band
These details could seem small, but they’ve a major impact on the flow, mood and delight of the day for each you as a pair and your guests. Relating to these requests, nothing is simply too small or fussy – we’re here to make sure your day runs exactly as you imagine it.
Design and Styling for this Savoy Hotel Wedding
Sometimes couples come to me with very clear ideas for the design and overall vision of their wedding day. Other times, as within the case of Georgia and Tom, they aren’t entirely clear on how they need it to look. That is where I are available, to work through the method with you to make sure we end on a whole styling and design plan that appears like ‘you’. With Georgia and Tom I used my experience, contacts and artistic flair to curate their ideas into something pretty, romantic and ambient.
It was clear from early within the planning process that Wildabout was the proper florist to deliver the look they wanted, and Georgia’s major stipulation was that it ought to be deeply romantic and enchanting. Due to time of 12 months and the proven fact that neither the ceremony space nor the ballroom have windows, it was all the time going to be dimly lit by natural light. We used this to our advantage by flooding the room with candlelight, enhanced by lighting from the production team. We rigorously balanced keeping things dark and romantic with having enough light to capture every beautiful detail on photo and video.
Georgia and Tom’s wedding stationery for his or her Savoy hotel wedding was created by Big Day Designs, and we worked hard to include a fairly, floral element without making it feel like a rustic garden wedding. We worked with Anna Jayne Illustrations for the design, and had it embossed onto the stationery. The final result was appropriately elegant for the situation but wove within the dreamy florals to perfection.
Their color palette was essentially white, green and blush pink, however the partitions of the Savoy’s ballroom are blue. We desired to honour that detail and work with it to create something that was soft and female, without turning it right into a pink-and-blue baby shower-esque wedding! We included nods to the blue with a translucent colored water glass on the tablescape, and blue Bombay Sapphire G&T bottles for the escort card table.
On-The-Day Details
Georgia and Tom’s wedding day began at 8am for Team Elegante and all of the suppliers, starting with production constructing the staging for the chuppah and the band. Despite the fact that your wedding ceremony normally takes place within the afternoon, preparations are underway from early within the morning to permit your florist, band, caterers and final details to be organised and ready to offer you the very best day ever.
Guests found their seats by taking their very own G&T bottle with labels featuring guest names and table numbers, which they might take as much as a gin bar to be made into gin and tonics with various garnishes and tonic waters – a sweet nod to Georgia and Tom’s initials, and the blue accent color.
The party finished on a high at 11.30pm, which was perfect for this Savoy hotel wedding since it was on a Sunday. I often recommend ending barely sooner than you think that you’d prefer to, while the party continues to be thriving and before it fades out and nobody is left on the dancefloor.
