Natalie & Marc’s Jewish Wedding in Rome: The Timeline of the Weekend
When planning a Jewish destination wedding, it’s essential to think about your timeline fastidiously. A lot of my Jewish couples refrain from asking their guests to travel or attend events on Shabbat, out of respect for traditions and to accommodate for all levels of observance amongst their family and friends.
Which means, while the marriage itself normally takes place on a Sunday, any welcome events are generally held on the Friday and Saturday is left free. In addition to respecting the customs of Shabbat, we also find this implies guests arrive fresh and excited to your wedding on Sunday, and have a day to enjoy their surroundings with no specified schedule.
Natalie and Marc’s Jewish wedding timeline was very like this. Nearly all of their guests flew into Rome on the Thursday or Friday morning, and we threw a wonderful welcome party at a rooftop bar within the centre of Rome. This was quite the option to begin the celebrations, immersing everyone within the atmosphere of the traditional and vibrant city, watching the sun set, and having fun with Italian canapes which were passed around throughout the evening.

The marriage itself took place on the Sunday, following a conventional Jewish wedding timeline. Natalie and Marc’s wedding venue of alternative was the spectacular Villa Miani, with unrivalled panoramic views of the town and exquisite interiors, gardens and courtyard. More on that in a moment…
One lovely feature of Villa Miani is its connecting walkway to the nearby hotel, where Natalie, Marc and lots of of their close family and friends were staying. This meant that when it was time for the Tisch to start, the lads could stroll through the walkway together to enjoy it.
We proceeded with their chuppah ceremony, which took place under an outstanding floral structure in Villa Miani’s fastidiously curated garden. The aperitivo hour followed on the lawn, enabling guests to benefit from the city laid out beneath them, coming finally to their wedding reception within the Villa courtyard.
Villa Maini: Wedding Venue in Rome

The 2 highlight areas of the day were the lower garden where the chuppah and formal photos took place, and the courtyard – a pristinely kept space that gives beauty in its own right but in addition acts as a blank canvas for your individual reception design, with warm neutral partitions, archways and an immaculate dancefloor space.

The courtyard space was transformed with the assistance of Flow Floral Couture, based in Rome. We brought the whole lot to life with a design featuring chandeliers, sculptural floral artwork and a romantic pink and fresh white color palette, perfect for an Italian city within the spring. It was a balance between making a sense of abundance and luxury, while allowing the Villa’s own charm to shine through.
Considered one of our favourite elements of Natalie and Marc’s Jewish wedding in Rome was the bespoke stationery suite designed for them by Big Day Designs. The suite of invitations, menu cards and wedding day schedule featured illustrated depictions of Villa Miani, the front taking the shape of the venue’s iron gates which were opened together with the cardboard, revealing the remaining of the venue inside. It’s details like these that elevate your wedding from fabulous to unforgettable!
We brought in Alex Wysocki from the UK to photograph their wedding, which was also captured on film. All the photographs you see listed here are Alex’s incredible work, and we particularly love these shots of Natalie and Marc after dark!
