Today’s wedding is a beauty. I’ve been holding on to Naomi & Chris’s gorgeous autumn wedding with all those magical golden, rust and red colors. Today feels just a little bit crisp and autumnal – perfect to share their day with you! The private touches go above and beyond, with tables named after special people and styling touches like little felted birds on branches. They’re lovely! Naomi’s Needle & Thread dress is beyond beautiful, as is she! There are such a lot of creative ideas, all captured in amazing photos by Lake District wedding photographer Hannah Hall. Hannah gets a glowing review from Chris & Naomi, who’ve a number of supplier recommendations to share with you so do keep reading! As all the time, there’ll be more favourite pics on our instagram at @englishweddingblog later!

Wedding photographer review
In case you hire Hannah, you’re not only hiring a superb photographer, but someone who will whole heartedly assist you in anyway that she will be able to. Whether that be a solution to a silly wedding query, helping you navigate the morning of, making friends with all your guests to get the most effective shots possible or sending a funny video to make you laugh for the day.
We HUGELY recommend booking Hannah on your wedding if you need to look naturally beautiful in your photos and capture the personality and lifetime of your folks and family in your big day. We weren’t big on the thought of getting a great deal of posed photos and after we saw Hannah’s website we knew she was the one. We selected her because she is the most effective at capturing those small moments that you simply miss on the day (in addition to just being a very lovely person), for the most effective examples of this just go to her website (https://hannahhallphotography.co.uk) and watch the images scroll through. That was just about all we wanted to know she was perfect (the women within the pink hats are what sealed the deal for us).
Your best wedding moment or memory
Naomi – For me, it was seeing a number of different groups of individuals in our lives meetings and mingling. It was like The Avengers movies when hero’s from different movies finally meet. It makes you appreciate the people you’ve met that helped you get to that day.
Chris – There are such a lot of best moments and memories that it’s difficult to decide on but in addition to what Naomi said about seeing all our family and friends mingling, it was probably the primary moment we were together after the ceremony, where we could just spend a while together on our own and discuss how the day had gone for us thus far (there was a mammoth mission on the hotel before to be certain we didn’t see one another).
Tell us anything you probably did otherwise – we love hearing about NEW traditions (or none in any respect!)
We had a pleasant mix between traditional and strayed away when it made sense to us.
Reasonably than finding a Maid of Honor, we stuck with Naomi’s best friend Ryan who became her “bridesman”.
We stuck to the tradition of not seeing one another before the ceremony on the day.
We also didn’t do wedding favours as we didn’t wish to buy a load of things that individuals wouldn’t actually need and would go away them and so they get thrown away.
It was vital for us to by some means include relations we have now lost through the years. Chris had an excellent idea to call our tables after those people and include a little bit bio about those people on each placemat.
Our major focus was to be certain that we had the marriage we wanted and didn’t feel bogged down by traditions or by going out of our approach to buck all trends and traditions. We borrowed certain traditions (first dance, not seeing one another before the ceremony and speeches) and did our own thing as well (no bridesmaids, no groomsmen, no wedding favours)
The one thing we are able to add is to take the recommendation we got which is just to make the day the best way YOU want. There could also be some individuals who attempt to get entangled and inform you what to do and whilst it is best to all the time hearken to advice, don’t feel like you could have to do what they need. At the top of the day, it’s your wedding day and your memories. You’ll be able to all the time tell them you’ll try this thing they’re telling you to do but then just… don’t. They’ll only discover on the day and by then it’ll be too late!
Venue name + review
The Pumping House in Ollerton. We cannot recommend them enough. Not only is it a beautifully unique venue in a surprising forest location however the staff were exceptional (special shoutout to our wedding coordinator Megan).
Tell us a little bit about your outfits – each of you!
Naomi’s dress was Needle + Thread. She had wanted something very embellished that complimented her figure but, most significantly, something that was comfortable. This ticked every box after which some.
Naomi just desired to shout out having a fitting in your personal home with family and friends. We made a day trip of it and everybody felt they may calm down without feeling pressured from dress sales people.
Chris’ suit got here from Cavani at Coney’s in Lincoln – I wanted a pleasant tweed suit and I wanted a rather different color, versus beige or blue so I went looking for suits with my parents. We went in all places and I almost bought a unique suit until my dad said he had seen a pleasant suit shop in Lincoln. So we hightailed it over there because it was almost the top of the day and located the right suit that was green, so matched the colors for the marriage perfectly.
Chris – The staff at Cavani at Coney’s in Lincoln were absolutely sensible. They couldn’t do enough to assist me and gave honest advice and even stayed open a little bit past closing time to make sure I got the most effective suit. Additionally they did a little bit little bit of tailoring to the trousers and got them back to me inside a few days. And the suits are all really within your means.
Florist name + review
Our florist was the wonderful Danielle, owner of Peonies and Plumes.
As soon as we saw her work at The Pumping House open day we fell in love. She was a dream to work with and over delivered on our transient. We’re a giant believer of letting experts do their thing so we briefed her with a couple of colors and explained the mood we were on the lookout for: autumnal forest/berries/mosses/deep colors. And boy! We got greater than we had hoped for.
Cake maker name + review
Our cake maker was Naomi’s Nan and Aunty, the Chief Cake Makers for each family occasion. Not only was the cake tasty (who can beat the baking of a grandma?) however it has extra intending to us. And he or she does make one hell of a cake!!
Stationery maker’s name + review
Probably the topic that caused Chris essentially the most stress. Naomi designed each piece of stationery in her free time. The invites, signs, menus and table names. Again, regardless that we ended up with tight turnarounds and took an extended time to attract and design, we’re glad we did it to present our wedding more meaning (and doubtless saved amount of cash doing so). We opted for a forest floral inspired design and peppered it with animals that mean something to us. In our signs we had a sleeping drawing of our cat.
Any crafty projects or homemade styling touches?
We’re big birdwatchers and knew we desired to add that element into our day. We (but mainly Naomi!) made several felted birds and we worked with Peonies and Plume to include them into each display. It helped to create a whimsical animal woodland feel and gave the youngsters something fun to go around and spot.
Wedding readings?
We didn’t want our ceremony is turn into too long, we opted for under 1 reading which was a collection of the most effective meaningful pieces of recommendation from the book The Human’s by Matt Haig: – Every little thing Matters.
Every ingredient inside a star is inside you – You shouldn’t have been born. Your existence is as near unimaginable as will be. To dismiss the unimaginable is to dismiss yourself – Kindness is all the time courage and caring is what makes you human. Care more, turn into more human. – Sooner or later humans will survive Mars. But nothing there can be more exciting than a single overcast morning on Earth. – Don’t all the time try to be cool. The entire universe is cool. It’s the nice and cozy bits that matter. – There are numerous idiots in your species. Lots and plenty. You are usually not certainly one of them. Hold your ground. – If you watch the news, and see members of your species in turmoil, don’t think there may be nothing you may do. But know, it shouldn’t be done by watching the news. – Don’t aim for perfection. Evolution, and life, only happens through mistakes. – No-one is ever completely right about anything. Anywhere. – You don’t need to be an educational. You don’t need to be anything. Don’t force it. Feel your way, and don’t stop feeling your way until something suits. Possibly nothing will. Possibly you might be a road, not a destination. That’s wonderful. Be a road. But be certain it’s one with something to have a look at out of the window. – A quark shouldn’t be the smallest thing. The smallest thing is the regret you’ll feel in your deathbed for not having worked more. – Even when the darkness is total, remember you might be moving through the galaxy. Wait for the brightness of the celebrities. – It shouldn’t be the length of life that matters. It’s the depth. But while burrowing, keep the sun above you. – If there may be a sunset, stop and have a look at it. Knowledge is finite. Wonder is infinite. – Be alive. That’s your supreme duty to the world. – In some unspecified time in the future, bad things are going to occur. Have someone to carry onto. – Don’t ever be afraid of telling someone you like them. There are things improper along with your world, but an excess of affection shouldn’t be one. – You’re lucky to be alive. Inhale and soak up life’s wonders. Never take a lot as a single petal of a single flower as a right.
First dance song? Playlist recommendations?
Our first dance was actually a fun Eurovision song. Daði Freyr, 10 years. Again, the massive focus for the day was to be certain everyone was having fun, in addition to ourselves. We’d have felt awfully awkward if we forced out a romantic song and slow dance. We love Daði Freyr and the undeniable fact that he wrote this song specifically for his wife felt so right. And, yes, we did a very cheesy disco dance together with it. Shout out to The Pointer Brothers for his or her inspiration and Hannah for believing in us to tug it off.
Hair + makeup name + review
In addition to expert artists, a relaxing and friendly environment for the morning was an important a part of finding Naomi’s hair and make-up so we asked Hannah (photographer) who she beneficial. Naomi’s hair was styled by Hannah Blinko Hair who created a beautiful Hollywood wave that lasted ALLLLLLL day. Hannah was great in every step along the approach to the massive day. Chatting over emails about styles, opening up her house for a trial run and being splendidly funny on the day. Make-up was expertly applied by Ruby Jones who was capable of make every transient come true. Ruby was great in guiding Naomi through the method and what was needed, even relying on a call to talk things through. Again, Ruby opened up her home for the trail which was a relaxing and friendly environment. On the day Ruby was capable of create different styles and appears for multiple women and remained calm and friendly all morning. A really welcome vibe to calm nerves.
