TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL!
Alex arranged for us to go to the Lake District within the UK one weekend for my birthday. Because the weekend approached, the Lake District was forecast for probably the most rain they’d had in years. I rang the hotel the day before we set off to book dinner.
To my disappointment, the lady said the one road into the hotel was currently flooded. Pondering it was sad that we might need to maneuver my birthday celebrations, I went to inform Alex. He immediately went white as he informed me, we might still discover a technique to get there.
We drove up the subsequent day through mild flooding and by chance, the automotive made it through. After arriving and settling in, we explored the grounds while decked out in our waterproof jackets and trousers. Little did I do know, Alex had the ring in his pocket.
Immediately after stepping out the door, it poured. We walked along the road, but the great paths were flooded. Alex reached into his pocket and felt the ring box floating in just a little puddle of water. Panicking, he was stuck between proposing on the side of the road or attempting to work out the least suspicious way he could get the ring back to safety. Luckily for him, moments later, I suggested we return to the hotel.
Once we got back, Alex dropped off the ring in our room and almost immediately after, the sky cleared. We decided to return outside and located an exquisite path and waterfall with nobody else in sight.
I’m Alex, waiting, having been a bit suspicious about his behavior. Nonetheless, at this point, the ring was secure and dry back on the hotel. We finished our walk, and I believed that I had misread him and that a proposal wasn’t coming.
After dinner, Alex suggests yet another walk across the hotel grounds. This time, he brings the ring and proposes!

DESCRIBE YOUR BRIDAL STYLE. HOW DID YOU WANT TO LOOK ON YOUR WEDDING DAY? TELL US ABOUT YOUR DRESS-SHOPPING EXPERIENCE.
I wanted a timeless, elegant wedding day look that I’d love for years to come back, and I could hopefully in the future pass it on to our kids. I wasn’t sure exactly what sort of dress I wanted. Nonetheless, through trying some dresses on, I quickly fell in love with ballgown styles.
I went to some of bridal shops and really liked just a few similar dresses, but I’d all the time heard that you simply immediately know whenever you’ve found the one, and I hadn’t felt that. I used to be starting to think perhaps that wouldn’t occur for me, after which I visited Chislehurst Bridal. I described the style I used to be searching for, and Dawn, the owner, suggested I try on Essense of Australia Style D3232.
As I walked out to see myself within the mirror, there have been two little girls, faces pressed against the front window of the shop, watching me. It would sound silly, but their faces made me feel like this was the right fit. I looked within the mirror and eventually had the sensation that I’d been waiting to have.

TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR WEDDING. WHAT WERE YOUR THEME AND COLORS? HOW DID YOU MAKE YOUR WEDDING PERSONAL TO YOUR LOVE STORY?
When Alex and I first discussed the most important priorities for our wedding day, we knew we desired to find a way to spend meaningful time with all our guests and for everybody in attendance to benefit from the day. Since I’m Canadian and we had guests flying from Canada, we wanted the texture of a countryside wedding inside easy reach of London airports. Morden Hall Country House was the right venue for this because it is a Georgian manor house set in National Trust land in London.
We didn’t wish to add an excessive amount of decoration as we wanted the fantastic thing about the constructing and setting to shine through. Our flowers were pale pinks, peaches and whites, which paired nicely with the whites and blues of the venue.
We kept our guest list to simply over 50 people which we felt like was the right amount. Within the evening, we had a live band, and everybody danced into the early hours. It was truly a magical day!

WHAT WAS THE MOST SPECIAL MEMORY FROM THAT DAY?
I’ll always remember the sensation of anticipation as I stood just out of view, able to walk down the aisle. As I stepped outside, I saw all our family and friends and felt overwhelmed by the love around us.
I remember pondering, “just find Alex’s face.” After I saw him, I felt so regular and at peace. After the day, when Alex and I were discussing our favourite parts, Alex said he had thought the identical thing as he was waiting for me at the tip of the aisle. When he saw me, every other stress leading as much as that moment was washed away and he knew we were in the correct place, together.

Cheers to Erin and Alex!
