This policy explains what we do with your information when you use this site. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Who we are
This site is published by Wedding Plan 360 LLC, trading as WeddingPlan360, a destination wedding planning company operating from the United States. We work with couples in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe and elsewhere.
This policy covers weddingplan360.com, including the guides published under /news. It does not cover a resort’s own website, or any third-party site we link to.
What we collect, and why
When you contact us or book a call
You give us your name, email address, and whatever you tell us about your wedding — dates, guest numbers, destinations, budget. We use it to answer you and to plan with you. If you do not want us to hold something, do not send it.
Appointments are booked through Calendly, which is embedded on our appointment page. Calendly receives the details you enter to schedule the call and operates under its own privacy policy.
When you subscribe to the newsletter
We collect your email address, and our newsletter tool records standard delivery information such as whether an email was delivered, opened, or a link was clicked. You can unsubscribe from any email, and we will also remove you by hand if you ask.
When you comment
WordPress stores the name, email address and any website you enter, along with your IP address, so comments can be moderated and spam filtered.
Automatically, when you visit
Our server keeps standard logs: IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and the time. These keep the site running, help us investigate errors and let us spot abuse.
We also use Google Analytics to understand which guides people read, how they found us and where a page loses them. It tells us about patterns, not about you personally.
Who else sees your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not pass it to data brokers. We do not run advertising networks or retargeting pixels on this site.
The companies that help us run the site and the business do see some of it:
- Hostinger — hosting. Our server for this site is in the United States.
- Google Analytics — visitor analytics.
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces this site is set in, which means Google receives your IP address to deliver the font files.
- Calendly — appointment scheduling on our appointment page.
- MailPoet — newsletter delivery.
- YouTube — some older posts embed videos. YouTube can set its own cookies once a video loads.
- The resorts themselves — when you ask us to check availability or hold a date, we pass on what the resort needs to answer, such as your name, your dates and your guest count.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies here fall into two groups. Essential ones keep the site working and let our caching layer serve pages quickly. Analytics ones tell us how the site is used.
Our main site shows a cookie banner where you can accept or decline non-essential cookies. The guides section under /news does not currently show that banner, so analytics cookies are set there when you visit. We are fixing that. In the meantime you can opt out in any of these ways, and they work everywhere on the site:
- Install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which blocks Google Analytics on every site you visit.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use a private window.
- Turn on your browser’s tracking protection, which blocks analytics by default in most current browsers.
Blocking analytics cookies does not stop you using the site or reading anything on it.
Where your information goes
We operate from the United States, our team accesses your information there, and the server for this site is in the United States. If you are in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, Canada or anywhere else outside the US, your information is transferred to and stored in the United States, which may not give the same legal protection as your own country.
Where that transfer needs a legal basis, we rely on the transfer being necessary to provide what you asked us for, on your consent, or on standard contractual clauses used by our providers.
Our legal bases
If you are in the UK or the EEA, the UK GDPR and the GDPR give us the following bases for using your information:
- To take steps at your request before entering a contract — answering an enquiry, quoting, planning your wedding.
- Consent — the newsletter, and non-essential cookies where our banner is shown. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the site secure and available, understanding how it is used, and preventing abuse. We use the least information that achieves it.
- Legal obligation — where we have to keep records.
How long we keep it
Enquiry and planning correspondence is kept while we are working with you and for a reasonable period afterwards, because weddings are planned years ahead and couples come back. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for a short operating period. Comments stay until removed. Ask us to delete something and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use our contact page and tell us what you want. We will not make you jump through hoops, and we will not charge you.
If you are in the UK or the EEA, you also have the right to restrict or object to how we use your information, to receive it in a portable format, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority — the ICO in the UK, or your national supervisory authority in the EEA.
If you are in California, you can ask what categories of personal information we have collected, why, and who we shared it with; ask for a copy; and ask us to delete it. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in the CCPA, and we do not offer financial incentives for it. We will respond within 45 days, as the law requires, and we will not treat you differently for asking. You may use an authorised agent.
If you are in Canada, you can ask for access to your personal information and challenge its accuracy, and you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This site is for adults planning a wedding. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, access to our systems is restricted to the people who need it, and we keep the software patched. No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affected your information, we would notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
Changes to this policy
We update this page as the site and the tools behind it change. The revision date at the top tells you when we last did. Anything material will be stated plainly rather than buried in a clause.
