Most “average destination wedding cost” figures are a national survey with a beach photo on top. Our calculator starts from real numbers: 46 real wedding proposals and 304 pricing records across more than 90 partner resorts, from 2021 to 2026. Pick a style, a resort and a guest count, and it shows you what weddings like yours actually cost there.
Open the cost calculator. It takes about a minute and asks for nothing.
How does it work?
Three choices.
- Your style. Six of them, each with a per-guest range for the wedding’s events.
- Where. Choose up to three resorts to compare side by side across Cancun and the Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Punta Cana, Puerto Vallarta, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Costa Rica and cities in Mexico. Or skip it and see the regional range. A star marks resorts where we have priced real weddings.
- Your crowd. Guests and nights.
| Style | Per guest |
|---|---|
| Simple | $95 to $180 |
| Elegant | $180 to $300 |
| Luxurious | $300 to $450 |
| Grand | $450 to $620 |
| UltraGrand | $620 to $800 |
| Next Level | $800 to $1,300 |
What does it tell you?
When we ran it on November 3, 2026 for an Elegant wedding in Cancun and the Riviera Maya with 120 guests over 3 nights, it showed:
- A total: starting around $21,000, averaging around $35,000, for every event from venues to the last dance. That is about $176 to $294 per guest, a little under the Elegant band, because a bigger group brings the per-guest cost down.
- What one guest room costs: about $455 per room per night for two guests sharing, about $1,365 for the stay, and about $683 per guest.
- The whole room block: about $82,000 if all 120 guests book 60 rooms for 3 nights. That is what your guests pay between them for their own rooms, not a bill that comes to you.
- Starting prices by line: venues, food and beverage from $215 per guest at typical resorts; decor and florals from $5,000; photo and video from $3,500; DJ, sound and lighting from $2,000.
Pick a specific resort and the figures change to that resort’s own terms, including what a big enough room block earns there.
Why do rooms matter so much?
Because at a resort, your guests’ rooms and your wedding are one negotiation. A larger block often earns private events, comped rooms and waived fees, which is why the per-guest cost of the wedding tends to fall as the guest list grows. The real cost movers are decor, entertainment, photography and season, not the number of chairs.
How accurate is it?
It is a ballpark, and it says so. Rates change with the date and how far ahead you book. The room rates shown are typical published rates for the region, taxes and fees included, for two guests sharing. We book through wholesale contracts, so the rate we get you is normally better than what you will find published.

Frequently asked questions
Where do the calculator’s numbers come from?
From 46 real wedding proposals and 304 pricing records across 90+ partner resorts, 2021 to 2026. Where a resort publishes its own wedding calculator, we use its figures.
Does a bigger guest list cost more per person?
Usually less. Larger groups book bigger room blocks, and bigger blocks earn more from the resort. In the calculator, the per-guest figure drops as the guest count rises.
Is the room block a bill we pay?
No. The room block total is what your guests pay between them for their own rooms, not a bill that comes to you.
Is the number a quote?
No. It is a ballpark. Your exact figure depends on dates, room block and events. Ask for your exact number and we run it against live rates at our partner resorts, free, within a day.
