The time has come–you’re engaged! You’ve said yes to spending perpetually together with your partner, which is cause for celebration. While you would host a classic engagement party–and there’s nothing flawed with doing so–it’s possible you’ll want something a little bit more out of the box. Whether it’s since you and your companion love breaking traditions or simply love hosting a superb themed party, we’re rounding up a few of our favourite engagement party ideas.

From movie night to a beach bonfire with all your closest family members, these parties are sure to make it easier to start your engagement off on the proper foot.

16 Engagement Party Ideas

Movie Night

There’s nothing quite like curling up and watching your favorite movie. Gather your mates and family for a movie night, complete with a projector, cozy seating, blankets, your and your fiancee’s favorite film, and in fact, all of the treats you possibly can imagine.

Backyard BBQ

For a laidback evening stuffed with delicious food and fun games, host a backyard BBQ. Serve your favorite foods, from burgers to hot dogs and every part in between, before difficult everyone to a (friendly) competitive game of giant Jenga or corn hole.

Roller Disco

When you grew up going to the roller skating rink, then you recognize how much fun it’s. Get your groove on by rounding up your guests and hitting the rink again in a 70s-inspired roller disco party. You can too take it up a notch by hosting a dressing up contest. Have everyone dress up of their best retro gear, and the winner gets a prize basket stuffed with goodies from the disco era.

Cheese + Wine

Cheese and wine tasting is the right approach to elevate a conventional engagement party. It still involves delicious food and drinks but adds an additional level of elegance. Create an enormous charcuterie table on your guests to sample, together with wines that pair beautifully with the food you select.

Bonfire

When you’re fortunate enough to live near the beach or the woods, host a bonfire stuffed with drinks, games, s’mores, and campfire stories all about you and your fiancee.

Pool Party

Get engaged at the start of the summer? Have a good time with a classic pool party. Stock the home with cold beverages, snacks, giant pool floats, and many sunscreen. And don’t forget the feel-good playlist, too. Need to feel such as you’re on a tropical vacation? Turn it right into a luau with pina coladas, Hawaiian food, and tropical decor.

Sip + Paint

The concept of sip and paint night has turn out to be wildly popular these past few years. When you and your companion are artsy, that is the right celebration. Pour some wine and paint your heart away. To make it exceptional, have your guests paint something for you as a keepsake for this special time of your life.

Sunset boat ride

If you’ve access to a body of water–whether or not it’s the ocean or a lake–have a good time your love with a sunset boat ride. It provides an intimate environment together with your closest family members while offering scenery that’s the epitome of romantic.

Glamping

When you and your companion are big outdoor lovers, why not bring your loved ones and friends with you on a weekend-long glamping getaway? Think bonfires, s’mores, games, climbing, and kayaking. And in case your guests aren’t adventurers, don’t fret. The entire point of glamping is to camp in style–aka with air con and bathrooms.

Music Festival

While you would attend Coachella or Lollapalooza on your engagement party, we’re talking about creating your personal music festival in your backyard or local park. Hire food trucks and native musicians or DJs to get the party began. We also strongly encourage guests to rock their best festival wear, body glitter and all.

Brewery

We all know that not everyone loves wine. For people who prefer beer, host your party at a brewery. You may sip in your favorite adult beverages together with your family and friends, and also you don’t should worry in regards to the clean-up when you’re finished. That’s as stress-free because it gets.

Silent Disco

When you’re nervous about bothering your neighbors but still need to enjoy some great music, a silent disco will be the perfect celebration for you. All you would like is a DJ and a few headphones that connect with the identical signal because the DJ. Your neighbors can have no idea a full-blown party is going down round the corner.

Sports Game

Nothing brings people together quite like sports. Cheer in your favorite team and your love with a visit to an area sporting event. When you feel like splurging, rent out your personal suite for the sport, where you possibly can enjoy drinks and food, or avoid wasting money by getting seats together, so that you root your team on from the stands.

Karaoke

There’s nothing higher than belting out your favorite tunes–regardless of how pitchy you sound–in a room stuffed with your family members. Whether renting a karaoke machine for your private home or heading to your local karaoke bar, it’s time to start out enthusiastic about your go-to karaoke song.

Murder Mystery

In a classic case of “who done it,” you and your guests can work together to unravel a hypothetical crime in a fun and spooky celebration. Countless kits online have every part you want to create the right storyline. This can also be ideal if lots of your guests don’t know each other, because it gets everyone interacting.

Costume Party

Let’s be honest, there are only a few individuals who don’t love an excuse to throw on a dressing up for an evening. From the roaring 20s to a masquerade ball, there are countless themes to pick from. Having a dressing up party also makes searching for decorations that much easier.

Loving these engagement party ideas but undecided the best way to get to planning the party itself? Don’t worry! This guide tells you every part you want to know–from the best way to determine a guest list to sending out invitations.
