Barceló Maya Grand Resort, on the Riviera Maya between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, publishes a price list for South Asian weddings. Its 2026 book has three packages, and the gap between them is wide: one is free, one is $4,500 and one is $14,000 for 50 guests. This page sets out what each one buys, what 100 or 150 guests would cost, and the fees that sit outside all three.
Every figure below comes from the resort’s 2026 South Asian wedding package book, which Barceló sent us in August 2026. The resort says prices can change without notice, so treat them as a starting point and confirm them in writing before you sign anything.

Moksha: free, if you fill the rooms
Moksha costs nothing when you book 30 double rooms for at least 3 nights. It covers a wedding coordinator, the ceremony location, a room upgrade for the couple when one is available, sound equipment, and a 3 hour reception on the beach with a Mexican and vegetarian menu, served as a buffet for 60 guests or more.
What it leaves out matters more than usual. There is no priest, no décor and no Indian menu. Moksha is a venue and a meal. For a mandap, a pandit and a sangeet you are paying for extras or moving up a package.
Dharma: $4,500 for 50 guests
Dharma is the budget South Asian option. It includes henna for the bride (full palms, the backs of the palms and the feet), a basic mandap or a decorated gazebo, two natural floral garlands, the ceremony on the gazebo, the beach or in a private hall, a sparkling toast, and a 3 hour dinner reception in a banquet room with an open bar and an Indian and vegetarian menu. The cake and basic reception decoration are included. Flowers are not.
Each guest over 50 costs $50. At 100 guests Dharma comes to $7,000, and at 150 guests to $9,500.
Karma Love: $14,000 for 50 guests, with a mehendi and a sangeet
Karma Love is the only one of the three that covers a full South Asian weekend. On top of the ceremony and the reception, it adds:
- A mehendi: 2 hours with an open bar on a terrace at the Palace or by the pool, six canapés per guest, a henna artist for the bride (up to half the arm, and the feet) and one artist for the other women for an hour.
- A sangeet: 3 hours in a banquet room with an open bar, an Indian and vegetarian menu, a lit dance floor sized for 50 guests and three white lounge seats. The labor fee for the dance floor is not included.
- A traditional ceremony set-up on the beach or at the gazebo, two floral garlands and a 2 hour coffee break at the ceremony site.
The reception can be in a banquet room or at the open air grill. Each guest over 50 costs $70, so 100 guests come to $17,500 and 150 to $21,000. At 100 guests the resort adds a 3 hour welcome cocktail with a basic set-up at no charge.

These are package prices only. Rooms are separate, and so is everything in the next section.
The fees outside every package
- 80% of your guests must stay at the resort. Guests staying elsewhere pay a day pass to attend.
- A $300 deposit holds the date and time. It is not refundable.
- Outside vendors pay the resort a fee. The resort’s 2026 wedding book lists $700 for a photographer or videographer, $800 for décor, $900 for flowers, $800 per event for a DJ plus $100 for each extra hour, and $800 for hair and makeup.
- Extra open bar hours cost $12 per person for national drinks and $15 for premium. Guests at the Palace get the premium bar. Guests in the Beach, Caribe, Colonial and Tropical hotels get the national bar.
- Guests not staying at the Palace pay $15 each for a ceremony at the Palace gazebo.
- A dohli, palki, horse, havan, mandap chairs and a Ganesh statue are all available, priced on request.
- Once paid, packages and extras are not refundable. A wedding hit by weather moves to a backup location; it is not cancelled.
What to get in writing
- Who performs the ceremony. None of the three packages names a pandit or priest, and Moksha says outright that a priest is not included.
- How late the sangeet and the reception can run, per venue and per night.
- The Indian menu itself. Each package says the food is based on the hotel menu, so ask to see it.
- Which of the resort’s hotels your guests will stay in, because that decides national or premium bar.
- The labor fee for the Karma Love dance floor, and the price of any mandap upgrade.
