Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres South Asian Wedding: 14 Venues and a Mandap Already Built

Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres and TRS Coral Hotel sits on the quieter stretch north of Cancun, and it is one of the few properties in the area that has actually built a mandap on its beach rather than describing one in a brochure. This page publishes the venues, the capacities and the questions that decide whether it suits a multi-day South Asian wedding.

The evidence that they have done this before

The resort supplies a photograph of a South Asian mandap set up on Beach Grand Palladium, its 500-guest beachfront venue. That matters more than a marketing line. A resort that has already run a mandap ceremony on a particular stretch of sand has solved the questions that sink these events elsewhere: where the structure anchors, how the aisle is laid, where the guests sit and how the whole thing comes down before the next morning.

What the resort does not publish is the specification. There is no stated mandap size, no confirmed policy on an open flame for the havan, no baraat route and no named certification for its planners. This page does not estimate any of those. The list of questions further down is exactly what we put to the resort in writing on a couple’s behalf.

All 14 wedding venues, with published capacities

Fourteen venues across the Grand Palladium and TRS Coral side of the complex, from an 80-guest beach deck to a 700-guest convention centre. For a South Asian weekend, the useful thing is not the largest number but the spread: enough separate spaces to give each event its own setting without repeating a room.

How the weekend fits together

At 150 guests this property works comfortably without compromise. A mehndi on the White Terrace or Gravity Terrace, the sangeet indoors in the Poseidon Crystal Ballroom where a late night is not at the mercy of an outdoor noise rule, the ceremony on Beach Grand Palladium where the mandap has been built before, and the reception in the Theater or Deck Village.

At 300 and above, the Convention Center and its Plaza become the only spaces that hold the whole list, with the Theater at 350 as the middle option. Above 500, Beach Grand Palladium and the Convention Center are the two rooms in play, and that is the honest ceiling here. If your guest list runs past 700 for a single seated reception, this is not the property for that event.

One planning note that applies at every beachfront resort: get the named indoor backup for each outdoor event written into the same contract line as the venue itself. On this coast that is a rain and wind decision, not a formality.

The costs that are not in a package

A resort wedding package covers the setup, the ceremony structure, the dinner and the bar. It does not cover the photographer, the videographer, the DJ, the dhol player, the dance floor or the uplighting. Bringing your own vendors is normal, and it is not free: the resort charges an outside vendor fee for the access, and the vendor still quotes you separately on top of that.

Comparable Caribbean properties publish outside vendor fees around $1,500, day passes around $165 for anyone not staying on site, and legal ceremony fees around $800. The seven questions to put in writing

1. The entertainment curfew for each venue you are offered, per night, and the cost of an extension. This is the question that decides your sangeet.
2. The mandap: what the resort provides, what it will permit you to bring, and whether an open flame is allowed for the havan.
3. Whether a baraat can run on property, with a horse or a decorated vehicle, on which route and at what hour.
4. Whether your assigned planners have South Asian wedding experience, and whether that is a named certification.
5. The outside vendor fee, the day pass rate and the legal ceremony fee.
6. Whether the kitchen handles pure vegetarian, Jain or halal catering, and whether an outside Indian caterer is permitted.
7. The named indoor backup space for every outdoor event, in the same contract line.
