Hard Rock Riviera Maya is the property South Asian couples ask us about most often, and it is the one the rest of the internet writes about with the least actual information. This page publishes what the resort and the brand confirm, what they do not confirm, and the one scheduling rule that decides whether your sangeet works.
Does Hard Rock host South Asian weddings?
Yes, and the brand says so itself. Hard Rock’s own all-inclusive weddings site lists South Asian Weddings as one of its ceremony styles, describing them as “a cherished occasion to bring forward rich customs and honor cultural traditions”. That is a brand-level commitment across the Hard Rock hotels, not a property-specific package.
What Hard Rock does not publish anywhere is the detail underneath it. There is no published mandap specification, no stated baraat route or animal policy, and no named certification for its planners. We are not going to invent those. Further down, we list exactly what to ask for in writing, because a resort that will not put it in writing before you sign is telling you something.
The rule that decides your sangeet: entertainment curfew
This is the single most important line on the whole page, and it is the one nobody quotes. At Hard Rock Riviera Maya, outdoor event spaces may only allow entertainment until 10:00pm. One venue is different: Starlight Terrace allows entertainment until midnight.
Think about what that means for a multi-day South Asian celebration. A sangeet that starts after dinner and is cut at 10:00pm is not a sangeet. A reception with a dhol and a full dance floor ending at 10:00pm ends before it has properly started. If the late nights matter to you, and for most of our couples they are the entire point, the venue you choose for those two events is not a decorating decision. It is the decision.
Ask for the curfew per venue and per night, in writing, and ask what an extension costs. Resorts will often price one. That question, asked before you sign, is worth more than any amount of decor budgeting.
All 19 wedding venues, with published capacities
Hard Rock Riviera Maya publishes 19 wedding venues. The largest is the Convention Center at 1,500 guests, which is why this resort can hold a South Asian guest list that most beach properties cannot.

The resort’s own summary figure for a wedding is up to 300 guests, which reflects its standard outdoor venues rather than the Convention Center ceiling. Both numbers are true; they answer different questions.
How to build a four-event weekend here
Read the table as a schedule rather than a menu. At roughly 150 guests, a workable shape is a mehndi on one of the mid-size terraces, the sangeet at Starlight Terrace because of the midnight allowance, the ceremony outdoors in the morning where the 10:00pm rule is irrelevant, and the reception indoors where a curfew does not cut the night short. At 300 guests and above, Woodstock Terrace and the Convention Center become the only rooms that hold the full list, and the Convention Center is the one space here that will take a 600 or 1,000 person reception without splitting your family across two rooms.
Morning events are the quiet advantage of an outdoor curfew. A haldi or pithi at 10am is completely unaffected by a 10:00pm rule, so the restriction only ever bites on the two events that run late.
What is not in any wedding package
A resort package covers the setup, the officiant structure, the dinner and the bar. It does not cover the photographer, the videographer, the DJ, the dhol player, the dance floor or the uplighting. Bringing your own is normal and it is not free: resorts charge an outside vendor fee for the access, and the vendor still quotes you separately on top of it. Comparable Caribbean properties publish outside vendor fees around $1,500, day passes around $165 for anyone not staying on site, and legal ceremony fees around $800. Hard Rock does not publish its own figures, so ask for all three by name.
We walk through every one of these charges, resort by resort, in what an all-inclusive wedding package does not include, and the full multi-resort price comparison sits in the true cost of a South Asian destination wedding.
The seven questions to put in writing
Before you sign anything at this or any resort, get written answers to these. Every one of them has changed a couple’s plans at least once.
- The entertainment curfew for each venue you are being offered, per night, and the cost of an extension.
- Whether a mandap can be provided or brought in, and whether an open flame is permitted for the havan.
- Whether a baraat can run on property, with a horse or a decorated vehicle, on which route, and at what hour.
- Whether the planners assigned to you have South Asian wedding experience, and whether that is a named certification.
- The outside vendor fee, the day pass rate, and the legal ceremony fee.
- Whether the kitchen handles pure vegetarian, Jain or halal catering, and whether an outside Indian caterer is allowed.
- The named backup indoor space for every outdoor event, written into the same contract line.
We ask these on your behalf as a matter of course, and our planning service is free to couples because the resorts pay us. If you want the answers for Hard Rock Riviera Maya specifically, tell us your dates and guest count and we will get them in writing.
Frequently asked questions
Does Hard Rock Riviera Maya host South Asian weddings?
Yes. Hard Rock’s own all-inclusive weddings site lists South Asian Weddings as one of its ceremony styles across the brand. The resort publishes 19 wedding venues, the largest holding 1,500 guests. It does not publish mandap or baraat specifics, so those are questions to get answered in writing before you sign.
How late can the music play at Hard Rock Riviera Maya?
Outdoor event spaces may only allow entertainment until 10:00pm. Starlight Terrace is the exception and allows entertainment until midnight, which is usually why it ends up being the right room for a sangeet or a late reception.
How many guests can Hard Rock Riviera Maya hold for an Indian wedding?
The resort’s own summary figure is up to 300 wedding guests across its standard venues. The Convention Center publishes a capacity of 1,500 for a ceremony, a cocktail hour or a reception, which is what makes a large South Asian guest list workable here.
What is not included in a Hard Rock wedding package?
Photography, videography, a DJ, a dhol player, the dance floor and uplighting are not in a resort wedding package. Bringing your own vendors is normal and triggers an outside vendor fee for the access, with the vendor quoting you separately on top of it. Ask for the outside vendor fee, the day pass rate and the legal ceremony fee by name.
Sources
Venue names, capacities and the entertainment curfew are taken from the resort’s own wedding venue information as published on our Hard Rock Riviera Maya listing. The South Asian ceremony style confirmation is from Hard Rock’s own all-inclusive weddings site. Where the resort does not publish something, this page says so rather than estimating it.
A note on the prices shown here
Every rate on this page is published by the resort and is included to give you a rough idea of pricing only. Resort pricing changes without notice and varies by date, season, day of the week, guest count, room availability and exchange rate. Figures may also be quoted before tax and service charge.
Nothing on this page is a quote, an offer or a guarantee of availability. For a current, all-in figure for your date and guest count, book a free planning consultation and we will confirm the real numbers with the resort.
