My husband and I met in 2018 during business school. After graduating, as a substitute of returning to Argentina as originally planned, Joaquin arranged for his company to transfer him to Atlanta in order that we could live together and be near my family.

I wanted a dress that was elegant, sophisticated, timeless and a bit glamorous. Our ceremony can be at a famous cathedral in Buenos Aires, and our reception at a Yacht Club on the river— so I wanted a dress that may fit the vibe of each.
I went to several different bridal shops and tried on dozens of dresses for over six months. While I discovered several dresses that I liked, I used to be beginning to worry that I’d never find my perfect dress—one I actually loved!
Throughout that process, I did learn more about what I wanted and didn’t want in a dress—I loved Mikado and silk fabrics, preferred a sleeveless dress and gravitated toward a ballgown or A-line wedding dress. When else in my life would I give you the chance to wear a princess dress?
When visiting my parents one weekend, I made a decision to stop by J. Andrews Bridal, a bridal boutique in my hometown. It was the same experience as I had in other bridal shops; I attempted on 10 dresses and liked several, but nothing that felt like “the dress.” On my way out, I used to be browsing the racks quickly one last time, and the flicker from Martina Liana Style 1075 caught my eye. I asked the bridal stylist if I could try on just yet another bridal gown. As soon as I put it on, I knew I’d found my dress.
My mom was recovering from surgery at home, so I FaceTimed her from the shop and told her that I might need found the dress! With my husband being from Buenos Aires and me from Atlanta, Georgia, our first big decision was where to have the marriage. My husband can be very near his family and his group of wonderful friends, so we desired to be certain they might all give you the chance to share the day with us.
My closest family and friends had already emphasized that they might like to go to Argentina someday, so we thought this could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to host them in a rustic we each love. The major challenge in planning our wedding, and for me personally, was language. My family doesn’t speak Spanish, and my husband’s family doesn’t speak English. Luckily, my best friend and Maid of Honor speaks fluent Spanish and English and translated our ceremony live from Spanish to English.

My husband and I met playing soccer in grad school, and coincidentally the World Cup was starting the following month. So, at midnight once we brought out the “cotillón” (hats, sunglasses, lights and other party items), we had inflatable soccer balls and a few soccer-themed sunglasses. We asked the DJ to play a series of essentially the most famous World Cup theme songs that everybody would know. Ricky Martin and Shakira were big hits! We thought it will be fun for our traveling guests to experience a little bit of this legendary World Cup spirit and energy while in Argentina (who ended up winning the championship)!
