Becoming an award winning destination wedding planner was an enormous honour and achievement for me as Chief Magic Maker at Elegante by Michelle J – but it surely didn’t occur overnight, and it didn’t come easily. To enable you to understand what it really means to have such an accolade attached to the business, we’re letting you behind the veil to point out you exactly why we’re now officially ‘Favourite Destination Wedding Planner’ in keeping with the RSVP Club Vienna Awards Gala for Europe, Africa and the Middle-East.

I’m Michelle J – a destination wedding planner with 15 years’ experience working in London and throughout Europe, specialising in Jewish celebrations, interfaith weddings and all-round unforgettable events. I consider myself a little bit of a Fairy Godmother of weddings, mixing luxurious details, elevated design and high-end supplier teams with our signature warm, embracing approach.

The secrets behind becoming an award winning destination wedding planner…

Time & Experience

15 years of wedding planning in Europe implies that we’ve done a lot of learning, refining and perfecting how we work, and the way we collaborate with local suppliers. Not only can we now have an intensive network of contacts at wedding venues, hotels and with countless vendors throughout Italy, Spain, Portugal, Mallorca and more, we’re also well versed in the way in which they get things done – which may be very different to the way in which things work in your property country. Good relationships are key to successful wedding planning, and we’ve worked hard on constructing them throughout the years. We’re now happy with the status we’ve in the marriage industry, each within the UK and Europe, and assured that we and our supplier network can deliver an incredible wedding for you anywhere.

Add to this one other layer; creating a marriage that’s utterly yours, with an excellent flavour of the country you’ve chosen to get married in. We so often say that we shouldn’t try to duplicate the marriage you’ll have at home, copy-and-pasting it into Italy or Portugal, for instance. Mixing what’s vital to you, including the customs and traditions of your faith or religion and your personal preferences, with the essence of your location is how real magic happens.

Becoming an award winning destination wedding planner requires a sophisticated skill set of adapting to local suppliers and venues and getting the most effective out of them, and that is something we imagine comes only with time and experience.

Selecting A Team

Planning a marriage is a team effort, and I often feel just like the conductor of an orchestra bringing together each of your suppliers and ensuring they’re all playing from the identical rating. But what it’s possible you’ll not know is how vital the Elegante by Michelle J team is to the success of your wedding day. Delivering a destination wedding requires a much greater team than, say, a one-day event at a London hotel – we regularly work across multiple locations, entire days and well into the early hours, and we attempt to supply the very best experience for you and your guests throughout. This implies we are sometimes a team of 5 or 6 at your destination wedding, with each Elegante member bringing their very own skills and experience to your event and everybody with the identical goal in mind: helping you’ve gotten probably the most incredible time.

On the Elegante team at your wedding, you’ll all the time find;

  • Michelle, in fact. Overseer, connector, coordinator, and hands-on wedding planner. You’ll find Michelle at each of your wedding events, meticulously ensuring no detail is missed and the additional mile is all the time gone.

  • A neighborhood language speaker. Wherever we’re on this planet, we’ll have someone on the team who can fluently communicate with suppliers, drivers, porters and other people involved in your wedding who may not speak English

  • An in-house travel advisor. Not only does our Elegante travel agent help with planning flights, hotels, guest accommodation, transfers and activities ahead of your wedding, they’re also present throughout your celebrations should any issues arise or recent questions come up

  • Specific experts for particular faiths, customs or events that require them. For instance, we recently delivered an Indian-Jewish interfaith wedding and had on our team an Indian wedding specialist to help with the Jaan, Haldi and Indian wedding ceremony

  • Finally, at your wedding there’ll all the time be several experienced wedding day team members, helping to make sure the whole lot is ready up as planned and suppliers are where they needs to be at the correct time, supporting you as a pair, guiding your guests and helping to enable the magic.

Guest Considerations

A part of being an award winning destination wedding planner is knowing the various requirements in your guests’ experience; bringing your family members overseas to have a good time with you is a much greater ask than inviting them to a in the future wedding at home. Not only do we’ve to fastidiously plan many more logistical elements corresponding to transport and accommodation, we also must treat them to an experience they may always remember.

The way in which we do that is by curating a marriage to the best standards, and taking your family members on a journey – starting together with your welcome party and going all through to the marriage and post-wedding event, if applicable. Every thing is planned, designed and delivered with no detail ignored, and our goal is that everybody feels they’re being treated like royalty. This shared experience in your guests lasts a lifetime, and so they’ll all the time have your wedding in common. What we’re trying to do is make these memories utterly magical, in a gorgeous location of your selecting. We’ll ask you to think about things it’s possible you’ll not have ever considered before, corresponding to curated welcome bags, planning guest activities, and handling the logistics of the most effective option to get them to and out of your wedding venue.

Technical Details & Paperwork

an award winning destination wedding planner knows how to give you the wedding you want, wherever you are in the world

It’s not the gorgeous, glamorous a part of weddings, but it surely’s the part that enables all of the visuals and atmosphere to come back together seamlessly – the technical details, paperwork and logistical considerations. Our event plan in your wedding is huge, with nothing left to probability or allowed to be forgotten. We all know exactly who needs to be where at what time, which specific tables, canapes or florals needs to be at each event, and who a very powerful members of your loved ones are. We all know concerning the technical equipment for the band, the religious details of your ceremony, and the most effective napkin fold in your dinner tables. Every thing we agreed and arranged during your wedding planning journey makes it onto our timeline, which is really the boring, beating heart of all of the gorgeousness you’ll see on the day.

A lot of becoming an award winning destination wedding planner has less to do with flowers and food tasting, and more to do with dedication to our couples and all the time striving to enhance. If you work with us you’re in secure hands because we’ve ensured it, and you possibly can be confident your wedding will absolutely blow you away – since it’s what we do. Should you’d like to work with us, get in contact to rearrange a consultation with Michelle.
