Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit is the argument for looking at the Pacific: an all-suites luxury resort with a dedicated South Asian wedding package, capacity to around 400 guests, and one inclusion we have not seen packaged anywhere else at this tier — the bride’s hair and makeup, inside the wedding package itself.
What “South Asian Weddings to Remember” actually includes
The resort publishes the package by name. Its inclusions, as written:
- Mehndi ceremony and Sangeet — the pre-wedding events built in, not bolted on
- Wedding ceremony and reception
- Welcome cocktail for your guests’ arrival night
- Hair and makeup for the bride — normally a four-figure line item you arrange separately, here part of the package
- Your choice of setting: beach or garden
- Romantic turndown on the wedding night
- Stated customization flexibility — the package is written to absorb additional services and amenities as desired, which is exactly the clause a multi-day South Asian celebration needs
Who the Pacific side actually suits
Honest fit assessment, because this is not the default choice. Riviera Nayarit means Puerto Vallarta’s airport, Pacific sunsets that set over the water (the Caribbean side’s sunsets happen behind the resort — photographers notice), and a quieter, greener, luxury-first setting. West Coast and Texas guest lists often fly here more easily than to Cancun. What you trade: the Caribbean’s turquoise-water look and Cancun’s deeper bench of South Asian vendors — dhol players, mehndi artists and décor houses mostly travel in, which we arrange through our vendor network at no charge.
At around 400-guest capacity it holds most celebrations; for the 500-plus tier the conversation moves to AVA, Cap Cana or Moon Palace.
