Hyatt Ziva & Zilara Cap Cana: South Asian Weddings, Properly

Written by the WeddingPlan360 planning team. Every provision named below comes from the resort’s own published South Asian wedding programme; where a number must be quoted per event, we say so instead of inventing one.

If you are pricing a South Asian destination wedding in the Caribbean, Hyatt Ziva & Zilara Cap Cana belongs on your shortlist before almost anywhere else — and not for the usual brochure reasons. This is one of the few resorts anywhere in the region that treats a multi-day South Asian celebration as a programme it runs, not a favour it attempts: certified South Asian wedding planners on staff, customised three-day timelines, and capacity for celebrations up to 2,070 guests. Here is what the resort actually provides, what it costs, and what we would check for your specific wedding.

What the resort actually publishes for South Asian weddings

These are the provisions in the resort’s own South Asian wedding programme — the list we verify against, not marketing paraphrase:

  • Certified South Asian wedding planners — not a general coordinator doing their best, and support for multiple-day wedding events on a customised three-day timeline
  • Mehndi, Sangeet, Baraat and ceremony options, each as its own event with its own setup
  • Traditional mandap and ceremonial décor
  • Dhol player and DJ coordination, plus live entertainment coordination
  • Indian cuisine catering, vegetarian and non-vegetarian
  • Groom arrival by traditional horse or vehicle — a real baraat with a route, not a hallway procession
  • Coordinators experienced in Hindu, Sikh and Muslim traditions
  • Bridal dressing room and preparation space

That list answers the question that decides most South Asian venue searches: whether the resort has done this before, at scale, in your tradition. Here, the answer is documented rather than promised.

The two-resort advantage nobody explains properly

Cap Cana is really two adjacent properties sharing one campus: Hyatt Ziva (family-friendly) and Hyatt Zilara (adults-only). For a South Asian wedding this is a genuinely useful structure — grandparents and families with children stay on the Ziva side, your friends take Zilara, and everyone is at the same wedding without anyone compromising. Very few venues in the Caribbean let you split a 300-person family that cleanly.

What it costs

The resort prices multi-day South Asian programmes by quote, against your dates, guest count and event list — the same as every large-capacity specialist we work with. That is not evasion; it is how celebrations this size are actually built. Two honest anchors while you budget:

  • Our true-cost guide to South Asian destination weddings works the full arithmetic with published package ladders — including why a four-event celebration for 150 guests can land near $32,000 all-in on a published package, and what changes at 300 guests.
  • The room block does real work at this scale: comp-room ratios, waived fees and package discounts grow with the block, and the block itself is where our contracted wholesale rates matter most. Our planning service is free to couples — the resorts pay us.

What we would check for your wedding specifically

  • The baraat route — the resort supports horse arrival; the route, timing and music permissions still get agreed per event, and we put them in writing.
  • Sacred fire rules for the pheras — open flame is venue-dependent everywhere; we confirm which spaces allow it before you fall in love with one.
  • Outdoor music curfew — decides whether the sangeet runs to midnight outdoors or moves indoors; we get the number, not “usually fine”.
  • Menu tasting logistics — vegetarian and non-vegetarian Indian catering is in the programme; your family’s regional dishes are a per-event conversation we run with the culinary team.
  • Which side hosts what — with two resorts on one campus, event placement (and who can attend on the adults-only side) is a planning decision, not an afterthought.

Frequently asked questions

Does Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana have real South Asian wedding planners?

Yes — the resort’s programme includes certified South Asian wedding planners and coordinators experienced in Hindu, Sikh and Muslim traditions, with customised three-day timelines for multi-day celebrations.

Can we do a real baraat with a horse?

Yes — groom arrival by traditional horse or vehicle is part of the resort’s published programme. The route and timing are agreed per event, which is exactly the kind of detail we lock in writing during planning.

How many guests can it hold?

Celebrations up to 2,070 guests across the campus — one of the largest capacities in the Caribbean, with the Ziva (family) and Zilara (adults-only) split letting large families stay comfortably in one place.

What does a South Asian wedding there cost?

Quote-based, against dates, guest count and event list — normal at this tier. For the real arithmetic of multi-event pricing, start with our true-cost guide, then book a free call and we will get the resort’s actual quote for your dates — at our contracted rates, with no planning fee.

A note on the prices shown here

Every rate on this page is published by the resort and is included to give you a rough idea of pricing only. Resort pricing changes without notice and varies by date, season, day of the week, guest count, room availability and exchange rate. Figures may also be quoted before tax and service charge.

Nothing on this page is a quote, an offer or a guarantee of availability. For a current, all-in figure for your date and guest count, book a free planning consultation and we will confirm the real numbers with the resort.
