Written by the WeddingPlan360 planning team. Every provision below is from the resort’s own published South Asian wedding programme; costs that are quoted per event are flagged as such, never invented.

Most couples planning a South Asian destination wedding look at Mexico first and the Dominican Republic second — and skip Jamaica entirely, mostly because nobody told them there is a resort in Montego Bay with a certified South Asian wedding planner included and a real multi-day programme. Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall is that resort, and for celebrations up to about 630 guests it is one of the strongest South Asian venues in the Caribbean that almost nobody shortlists. Here is exactly what it provides.

What the resort’s South Asian programme actually includes

  • Certified South Asian Wedding Planner included — on the resort’s side, before your own planner does anything
  • Full multi-day event coordination — the celebration is structured as a programme, not a single booking
  • Sangeet, Mehndi and Baraat arrangements, each with its own setup
  • Traditional Indian cuisine options
  • Mandap and ceremonial décor
  • Pooja setup and officiant support — the provision that matters most for a proper Hindu ceremony, and the one most resorts leave vague
  • Private spaces for each event — your sangeet is not sharing a wall with someone’s conference
  • Groom’s arrival setup with horse or vehicle, DJ and entertainment packages, and bridal suite preparation with turndown service

The resort describes the programme as “ideal for traditional Indian weddings” — and unusually, the provision list backs the sentence up.

Why Jamaica, honestly

Three real reasons, and one caveat. Montego Bay is a short, direct flight from most of the US East Coast and Toronto — often easier for a scattered guest list than Cancun. Jamaica’s tax structure is simpler than Mexico’s: 15% General Consumption Tax, with gratuities typically 10–20% on top, against Mexico’s roughly 31% combined uplift. And Rose Hall sits fifteen minutes from the airport, which for 300 guests arriving over two days is not a small thing.

The caveat: Jamaica’s outside-vendor scene for South Asian weddings — dhol players, mehndi artists, Indian décor houses — is thinner than Cancun’s, so more of it travels with you or gets sourced through us. We tell couples this up front because it affects the budget line most people forget.

What it costs

The multi-day South Asian programme is priced by quote against your dates, guest count and event list — standard at this tier, where the strongest properties do not publish ladders. For the real arithmetic of multi-event pricing, our true-cost guide to South Asian destination weddings works a published package end to end so you know what a quote should look like. The room block carries real leverage at this size — and our contracted group rates and no-planning-fee model apply here as everywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Does Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall really include a South Asian wedding planner?

Yes — a certified South Asian wedding planner is included in the resort’s programme, alongside full multi-day coordination. Your own planning support (ours is free to couples) works with them, not instead of them.

Can we hold a proper pooja and Hindu ceremony there?

Pooja setup and officiant support are named provisions of the programme, with mandap and ceremonial décor. Specific ritual requirements — sacred fire rules, timing, your own priest’s needs — are confirmed per event, which is exactly what we handle in planning.

How big can a South Asian wedding at Rose Hall be?

The resort handles celebrations up to around 630 guests, with private spaces for each event of a multi-day programme.

Is Jamaica cheaper than Mexico for a South Asian wedding?

The tax structure is lighter (15% GCT vs Mexico’s ~31% combined tax and service), flights from the US East Coast are often shorter, and the airport transfer is minutes not hours. Against that, specialist South Asian vendors are thinner on the ground locally. Which way the total falls depends on your events and décor — ask us and we will run both honestly.
