Short answer: Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana publishes four wedding packages for 2027 — $749 for the couple alone, $1,879 for twelve people, $7,129 for twenty-two, and $22,150 for forty. Additional adults are $140 or $159 depending on the tier. A fifty-person wedding on Lavish & Opulent works out at $11,049 before tax and service. Two of the four packages can be had for nothing if your group books enough room nights.

Those are the resort’s own published figures, taken from our Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana listing and re-checked the day this was written. They are worth publishing because almost nobody else does. The resort’s own website quotes no prices. The travel blogs that do quote one price per package are quoting the cheaper of the two the resort actually publishes, and at least one is still running a 2023 figure of $1,499 for a package that now sells at $749. Nobody publishes the top of the ladder at all.

These are rough prices, not a quote. Every figure on this page is the resort’s published 2027 rate, before tax and service, before season, and before anything is negotiated. Resort pricing changes without notice.

We guarantee the lowest price on everything from guest rooms to the wedding package — find it cheaper and we will match or beat it — and we hold group rates, contracted concessions and discounts that resorts never publish. Book a free planning call and we will get your real all-in number in writing.

What a wedding at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana actually costs

The resort publishes two prices for its larger packages, not one. The lower price applies Monday to Wednesday all day, and Thursday to Sunday before 4pm. The higher price applies only Thursday to Sunday after 4pm. That distinction matters more than it looks, and I come back to it below.

Package Mon–Wed, or Thu–Sun before 4pm Thu–Sun after 4pm People covered Each extra adult Child 3–12
Just for the Two of You $749 — the couple — —
Intimate Elegance $1,879 — 12, couple included $55 $40
Lavish & Opulent $7,129 $7,669 22, couple included $140 $85
Luxury Wedding Package $22,150 $22,749 40, couple included $159 $89

Three things to read carefully in that table. The guest counts include the two of you, so Lavish & Opulent covers you plus twenty guests, not twenty-two. The two smaller packages publish a single price and are bookable Monday to Wednesday only, until 2pm — they are not an option for a Saturday evening at any price. And the child rate applies from age three to twelve, which for a family-heavy guest list is a meaningful saving.

The four packages, and what separates them

Just for the Two of You ($749) is an elopement: symbolic ceremony and certificate, bouquet and boutonniere, sparkling wine, a signature cake, petal room decoration and late check-out to 3pm. No reception, because there is nobody to feed.

Intimate Elegance ($1,879) adds the thing that makes it a wedding rather than a ceremony — a private dinner reception — and covers twelve people. At $1,879 for twelve that is $157 a head, which is the cheapest real wedding on this ladder by a wide margin.

Lavish & Opulent ($7,129) is the package most couples reading this will actually buy. It brings a private one-hour cocktail party with open bar and hors d’oeuvres and a private three-hour reception with a three-course meal and open bar. This is the first tier that looks like the wedding people picture when they picture a destination wedding.

Luxury Wedding Package ($22,150) covers forty people and adds, on top of everything in Lavish: florals for the bridal party, hair, makeup, manicure and pedicure for the bride, a professional photographer and videographer for the ceremony, live music at the cocktail hour, honeymoon breakfast in bed, a fifty-minute massage for the couple, a private beach dinner for two, and late check-out extended to 6pm.

Here is the honest planner’s note on that top tier. Run the same forty people through Lavish & Opulent — $7,129 plus eighteen extra adults at $140 — and you land at $9,649. The Luxury package costs $12,501 more for the identical head count. So Luxury is bought for what it includes, not for how many people it holds. It is worth the money if you were going to buy photography, video, bridal beauty, bridal-party flowers and live music anyway; those are real line items, and buying them bundled is usually cheaper than buying them one at a time, particularly once the $1,500 outside vendor fee is in play for anyone you bring in yourself. If you already have a photographer you love and a friend doing hair, it is not.

What 50 guests costs — and 100

The arithmetic is simple, because the resort publishes the per-guest rate. Base price, plus $140 for every adult past the twenty-two the package covers.

Total people (couple included) Lavish & Opulent, midweek Per person
22 $7,129 $324
30 $7,129 + 8 × $140 = $8,249 $275
50 $7,129 + 28 × $140 = $11,049 $221
75 $7,129 + 53 × $140 = $14,549 $194
100 $7,129 + 78 × $140 = $18,049 $180

Children shift this in your favour. Fifty people including eight children aged three to twelve costs $7,129 + (20 × $140) + (8 × $85) = $10,609. On the Luxury package, fifty people is $22,150 + (10 × $159) = $23,740.

One more number worth having: Lavish & Opulent stays cheaper than the Luxury package’s base price all the way up to about 129 people. That is the clearest possible statement of what the two tiers are for.

Why your per-guest cost falls as your guest list grows

Look at the right-hand column above: $324 a head at twenty-two people, $180 at a hundred. Cutting your guest list to save money on the wedding package does not work the way people expect. The package price is mostly fixed — the venue, the setup, the coordination, the cake, the bar for a set number of hours — and every extra person spreads that fixed cost further while adding only $140.

Where a smaller list genuinely saves money is on rooms, and rooms are the larger number for almost every couple. But that saving cuts the other way too, because room nights are what unlock the free packages below. Trim the list because you want a smaller wedding, not because you think the wedding package is where the money goes.

Can you get the wedding package for free?

At two of the four tiers, yes, and the thresholds are published.

  • Just for the Two of You is complimentary if the couple stays seven nights or more in a Club Ocean View Junior Suite.
  • Intimate Elegance is complimentary with 25 or more room nights booked across the group.

That second one is the most useful fact on this page, and it is on nobody else’s. Twenty-five room nights is roughly four rooms for six nights, or five rooms for five. If you are planning a twelve-person wedding — parents, siblings, a couple of close friends — those people were booking rooms regardless, and the $1,879 package price goes to zero. The catch is the one every complimentary package carries: it is a volume discount on rooms, so the booking has to run through one group contract rather than everyone booking separately on their own. That is exactly the sort of thing we set up for couples, and it is easy to lose by accident.

The costs that are not in the package price

Four published charges sit outside every package:

  • Wedding Pass — $165 per person. This is what a guest pays if they are not staying at the resort. Anyone economising at a cheaper hotel down the road costs you $165 to have at your wedding.
  • Outside Vendor Fee — $1,500. Bring your own photographer, videographer, decorator or DJ and this applies. Get the scope of it confirmed in writing for your date before you book anyone.
  • Legal Ceremony Fee — $800. Every package includes a symbolic ceremony. Making it legally binding in the Dominican Republic is a separate $800. Most couples are better off marrying legally at home and treating the beach as the real one; we walk through why in our guide to symbolic versus legal ceremonies.
  • Big Day Preview site visit — $600, credited back when you book the wedding. This one is published on the adjoining Hyatt Ziva and Zilara Cap Cana listing.

Then tax. The published package prices are pre-tax. In the Dominican Republic the 18% ITBIS plus a service charge of around 10% is commonly added, which puts a real total roughly a quarter to a third above the figure quoted — so plan for that $11,049 fifty-person wedding to land somewhere in the region of $14,000–$14,500. Do not carry a Mexican tax calculation across to this resort; the rates are different, and how much is already baked into a given quote varies. Ask for the all-in number in writing before you sign. Our guide to what an all-inclusive wedding package does not include covers the rest of what tends to surprise people.

Midweek or weekend: what a Saturday costs here

Every generic wedding article will tell you a Saturday costs twenty to forty per cent more than a weekday. At this resort that is simply not true, and the published prices prove it.

Package Base Thu–Sun after 4pm Difference As a percentage
Lavish & Opulent $7,129 $7,669 +$540 7.6%
Luxury Wedding Package $22,150 $22,749 +$599 2.7%

The premium is a flat fee of roughly $550 to $600, not a percentage — which means the more you are spending, the less the weekend matters. On the Luxury package a prime Saturday evening adds 2.7% to the bill. The “Saturdays cost 20–40% more” rule is imported from the domestic venue-rental market, where you are renting a building by the day. An all-inclusive package is not priced that way.

And read the condition precisely, because it is not really a weekend premium at all: the higher price applies Thursday to Sunday after 4pm. A Saturday ceremony at 2pm, with the reception rolling on into the evening, prices at the base rate. If you want a Saturday and you were flexible on the hour anyway, that is $540 saved for moving the ceremony earlier in the day — and in the Dominican Republic an earlier ceremony is often the better photograph regardless. We work through what else drives the total in our Punta Cana wedding cost guide.

How many guests can Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana hold?

The listing records a maximum wedding guest count of 300 for Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana itself. The venues published against the property:

Venue Max capacity Used for
Beach 600 Ceremony, reception, cocktails
Larimar Lawn 600 Ceremony, cocktails
Ballroom 500 Reception, cocktails
Ziva Beach Gazebo 150 Ceremony
Zilara Beach Gazebo 120 Ceremony
Waves Lawn 110 Ceremony, reception, cocktails
Santo Domingo Terrace 110 Reception
Rooftop Terrace 100 Ceremony, reception, cocktails
Aerial view of Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana showing the main pool, resort buildings and the beachfront
The Cap Cana property from the air. Image courtesy of Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana.

You will notice several of those spaces list capacities well above 300. That is because the larger lawns, the beach and the ballroom sit in the combined complex the hotel shares with its sister property. These are two different listings and should not be blended: Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana is the single hotel, capped at 300 wedding guests, while Hyatt Ziva and Zilara Cap Cana is the combined Ziva-plus-Zilara complex and publishes a maximum of 2,070 in the Santo Domingo Ballroom — the largest indoor wedding space in our entire directory. If your list runs past 300, that is the conversation to have, and it is a different contract.

If you are planning a South Asian wedding here, the multi-day questions — mandap, baraat, sangeet, the food — are answered separately in our guide to a South Asian wedding at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana.

How this compares to the rest of Punta Cana

Cap Cana is the only property in our Dominican Republic directory that publishes a complete price ladder, which by itself tells you something about how this market works. For comparison:

  • Excellence Punta Cana publishes $950 per couple for its ceremony package — but caps at 75 guests and is adults-only. Lovely at that size, wrong resort at 120.
  • Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana, Royalton Bávaro and Grand Palladium Punta Cana quote each wedding individually rather than publishing a ladder. That is normal here; it is not evasiveness.

Judged against what the region actually charges, Lavish & Opulent at $221 a head for fifty people — cocktail hour and a three-hour private reception with open bar included — is a fair price rather than a bargain or a gouge. The full picture across ten Punta Cana and Bávaro resorts is in our Punta Cana wedding cost guide.

Getting your real number

Everything above is the resort’s published starting point. What you pay depends on your date, your season, how many rooms your group books, and what has been negotiated on your behalf. We hold group rates and contracted concessions that never appear on a public page, and we guarantee the lowest price on both rooms and packages. Book a free planning call and we will price your exact date and guest count — here and at two or three comparable resorts — and put the all-in figure in writing.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a wedding at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana cost?

The resort publishes four packages for 2027: Just for the Two of You at $749, Intimate Elegance at $1,879 for twelve people, Lavish & Opulent at $7,129 for twenty-two, and the Luxury Wedding Package at $22,150 for forty. All are pre-tax; Dominican Republic tax and service are added on top.

What does a 50-guest wedding cost at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana?

$11,049 on Lavish & Opulent at the midweek rate: $7,129 for the first twenty-two people, plus twenty-eight additional adults at $140 each. That is $221 per person before tax and service.

Do guests who are not staying at the resort pay to attend?

Yes. Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana charges a $165 Wedding Pass per person for guests who are not staying at the resort.

Can we bring our own photographer?

Yes, subject to the resort’s published $1,500 outside vendor fee. The Luxury Wedding Package includes a photographer and videographer for the ceremony, which is one reason that tier can work out closer to Lavish & Opulent than the headline gap suggests.

Is a Saturday wedding more expensive at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana?

Only after 4pm, and only by a flat fee: $540 more on Lavish & Opulent and $599 more on the Luxury package. That is 7.6% and 2.7% respectively — nothing like the 20–40% weekend premium generic wedding articles quote. A Saturday ceremony before 4pm prices at the standard rate.

Can the wedding package be free?

At two tiers, yes. Just for the Two of You is complimentary when the couple stays seven or more nights in a Club Ocean View Junior Suite, and Intimate Elegance is complimentary with 25 or more room nights booked across the group — roughly four rooms for six nights.

How many guests can Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana hold?

Up to 300 wedding guests at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana itself. The adjoining Hyatt Ziva and Zilara Cap Cana complex is a separate property and publishes a maximum of 2,070 in its Santo Domingo Ballroom.

Are these prices what we would actually pay?

No. They are the resort’s published 2027 figures before tax, service and season. WeddingPlan360 holds group rates and negotiated concessions that are never published, and guarantees the lowest price on rooms and packages. We will confirm the real all-in number with the resort in writing for your date.

A note on the prices shown here

Every rate on this page is published by the resort and is included to give you a rough idea of pricing only. Resort pricing changes without notice and varies by date, season, day of the week, guest count, room availability and exchange rate. Figures may also be quoted before tax and service charge.

Nothing on this page is a quote, an offer or a guarantee of availability. For a current, all-in figure for your date and guest count, book a free planning consultation and we will confirm the real numbers with the resort.
