Written by the WeddingPlan360 planning team. Every price, venue and capacity below is taken from the resort’s own published material on our Hyatt Ziva Vallarta resort page — verified September 2026. Nothing here is estimated.

Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta is one of the few Pacific-side resorts where the wedding team is certified by the South Asian Wedding Institute — and one of even fewer anywhere that publishes its wedding package prices at all. The headline numbers: packages run from $649 for the two of you to $13,553 for 38 guests, with $105 per additional guest, and the Rios Ballroom seats a 600-guest wedding. That is enough to do the arithmetic on your own guest list before you ever get on a call. Below, we do it for you.

Does Hyatt Ziva Vallarta actually do South Asian weddings?

Yes, and the resort is specific about it rather than vague. In its own words: its expert wedding specialists are all certified by the South Asian Wedding Institute, and the team plans multi-event weddings — which is the part that matters. A single ceremony is easy for any resort. Mehndi, sangeet, a baraat with a dhol, a mandap ceremony and a reception across three or four days is an operations problem, and certification is the resort telling you its coordinators have been trained on it rather than learning on your wedding.

There is an onsite wedding coordinator included with every package tier, and the restaurants run multiple international kitchens. As always with a Pacific-side property, confirm your Indian menu plan early — specialist South Asian catering and vendors are arranged through our network, and we handle that at no charge to you under our no-planning-fee model.

What does a South Asian wedding at Hyatt Ziva Vallarta cost?

The resort publishes a four-tier ladder. These are the standard wedding packages — they are the floor your celebration is built on, and multi-day South Asian programming (mandap, décor, dhol, additional event nights, specialist catering) prices on top:

Package Published base price Guests included Each additional guest
Just for the Two of You $649 The couple —
Intimate Elegance $1,649 10 $45
Lavish & Opulent $6,089 20 $105
Luxury $13,553 38 $105

What each tier adds, as published: Just for the Two of You covers the symbolic ceremony, bouquet and boutonniere, cake, sparkling wine toast, romantic turndown, late checkout, a complimentary room upgrade, 10% off spa and the onsite coordinator. Intimate Elegance adds a private dinner reception, open bar during the event, ceremony sound system, bridal hair and makeup, a couples massage and 15% off spa. Lavish & Opulent adds a private cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres, a three-course plated dinner, live ceremony music, two hours of professional photography, floral centrepieces and a complimentary suite on the wedding night. Luxury adds gourmet buffet or plated options, a premium open bar, DJ services, custom cake design, a bridal hair-and-makeup trial and private check-in.

The per-person math, on your actual guest list

This is the arithmetic nobody else publishes for this resort. Starting from the Luxury tier at $13,553 for 38 guests, at $105 per head beyond that:

Guest count Luxury package total Per guest
38 (tier base) $13,553 $357
75 $17,438 $233
100 $20,063 $201
150 $25,313 $169
200 $30,563 $153

Read that column right to left and you have the single most useful fact about destination weddings, and the one couples are told backwards: a bigger guest list lowers your cost per guest, not raises it. The package base is fixed; the marginal guest is $105.

Three honest caveats. One: Mexico adds roughly 31% combined tax and service on event spend — apply it to every figure above before you compare anything to a US quote. Two: these are the standard packages; a full multi-day South Asian celebration adds mandap and décor, additional event nights, dhol and entertainment, and specialist catering, which are quoted against your plan. Three: resorts revise pricing seasonally, so treat these as the published ladder at the time of writing and let us confirm live numbers for your dates.

To sanity-check any quote you receive — here or anywhere — run it against the published ladders and the real cost drivers in our true-cost guide to South Asian destination weddings, and read what a Puerto Vallarta wedding costs more broadly.

Which venues fit which guest count?

The resort publishes maximum capacities per venue, by event type. This is where the property genuinely separates itself on the Pacific coast — the ballroom is large enough for the mega-tier celebration that most Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta properties simply cannot hold:

Venue Wedding Cocktail Reception
Rios Ballroom 600 600 400
Pureza Beach 200 150 120
Blaze Beach 200 200 100
Sky Penthouse Terrace 100 90 70
Palmas Terrace 70 100 80
Gazebo 40 — —
Sport’s Bar Terrace 20 50 50

How a planner reads that table: a 150–200 guest South Asian wedding works cleanly here — baraat and ceremony on Pureza or Blaze Beach (200 either way), cocktails outdoors, reception in Rios (400 seated), and sangeet or mehndi on the Sky Penthouse Terrace for 90–100. That is four distinct settings without leaving the property or renting a marquee, which is exactly what a multi-day celebration needs and what a single-ballroom resort cannot give you.

Is the Pacific side right for your wedding?

The honest fit assessment, because this is not the default choice. Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta sits in a secluded cove on the city’s southern coastline with 335 oceanfront suites and five infinity pools — every room faces water, which matters when 100 of your guests are booking at once. The Pacific gives you sunsets that set over the water; on the Caribbean side the sun goes down behind the resort, and photographers notice. West Coast and Texas guest lists usually fly to PVR more easily and more cheaply than to Cancun.

What you trade: the Caribbean’s turquoise-water look, and Cancun’s deeper bench of resident South Asian vendors — dhol players, mehndi artists and décor houses largely travel in on the Pacific side, which we arrange. If your list is East Coast–weighted, compare against AVA Resort Cancun, Moon Palace or Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana. If you want the Pacific and a dedicated South Asian package by name, compare against Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit up the coast.

What is the “Big Day Preview” worth?

The resort runs a site-inspection offer for couples: a two-night all-inclusive getaway for two, best room availability at check-in, an exclusive resort tour with the onsite wedding planner, an optional menu tasting, and a $500 credit toward your wedding on booking. Take it. Menu tasting in particular is where an Indian menu plan gets settled properly — in the kitchen, with the chef, rather than over email.

Where the room block changes the number

The package prices above are only part of the picture, and often not the decisive part. A contracted room block converts your guest list into leverage — group rates, and comped or credited event space and concessions that scale with room nights. This is the mechanism that makes a 150-guest destination wedding cost less per guest than a 60-guest one, and it is worth reading how destination wedding room blocks work before you sign anything. We negotiate the block; you never pay us a planning fee.

Frequently asked questions

Does Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta have South Asian wedding specialists?

Yes. The resort states that its wedding specialists are all certified by the South Asian Wedding Institute and that they plan multi-event weddings. An onsite wedding coordinator is included in every published package tier.

How much does a wedding at Hyatt Ziva Vallarta cost?

The published ladder runs $649 for the couple alone, $1,649 for 10 guests, $6,089 for 20 guests and $13,553 for 38 guests, with additional guests at $45 per person on the 10-guest tier and $105 on the larger tiers. Add roughly 31% Mexican tax and service, and price multi-day South Asian programming — mandap, décor, extra event nights, specialist catering — on top.

How many guests can it hold?

Up to 600 for a wedding in the Rios Ballroom and 400 seated for a reception there; 200 on either Pureza Beach or Blaze Beach; 100 on the Sky Penthouse Terrace. That range covers everything from a 20-guest terrace ceremony to a mega-tier celebration.

Can we have a baraat and a mandap on the beach?

The beach venues seat 200 for a ceremony, and the resort plans multi-event South Asian weddings with certified coordinators. Mandap build, décor and dhol are quoted against your plan rather than included in the standard packages — we source and price those through our vendor network.

Puerto Vallarta or Cancun for a South Asian wedding?

Puerto Vallarta for over-the-water sunsets, easier West Coast and Texas flights and a quieter setting; Cancun and the Riviera Maya for turquoise water and the deepest resident South Asian vendor scene. We plan both. Book a free call and we will run your actual guest list and departure cities against each, honestly.

A note on the prices shown here

Every rate on this page is published by the resort and is included to give you a rough idea of pricing only. Resort pricing changes without notice and varies by date, season, day of the week, guest count, room availability and exchange rate. Figures may also be quoted before tax and service charge.

Nothing on this page is a quote, an offer or a guarantee of availability. For a current, all-in figure for your date and guest count, book a free planning consultation and we will confirm the real numbers with the resort.
